This project is an appropriation of my own work, born out of a desire to be reborn and renewed, and to destroy the images I had crafted. Through much of the professional photography world, there is the idea of the perfect print, thus to tear or burn one could seem disrespectful and almost sacrilegious. In this sense I display to the viewer these warped photographs that appear to have been cast aside, abandoned, and ruined. Enacting this method brought new beauty and life to the images though as they became more than an old print, and turned into mysterious objects where each tear and spot of burned ink take on more precedence then what takes place within the image.
